I have been suffering lately from a pain in my head. Just before Xmas it got so bad that I went to the docs and was diagnosed with a sinus infection for which I had full-strength antibiotics. They helped a lot but the pain and pressure is still there.
So I am thinking - what if its dental pain?
I HATE going to the dentists - but then does anyone actually LIKE going to the dentist?
I hate it so much that I got de-registered from my last clinic.
When I met MM he persuaded me to register with his dentist and I filled in all the forms but never went for my inaugural appointment.
My youngest son actually had a phobia about dentists to the extent that all his treatment had to be under full anaesthetic. I am not THAT bad.
But I am ashamed to say that youngest son now goes happily for root canal work and extractions without a murmur (after finding a very understanding dentist) while I wont even go for a check-up.
I have given birth to 4 children, 2 of them without pain relief.
I have had a broken thigh, hysterectomy, half-knee replacement and removal of appendix.
These things have to be many times worse than having any dental treatment - but still I wont go.
I am hoping that someone will shame me into going before my mouth turns into a dark cave full of festering broken stubs of green teeth.
(Puts fingers in ears and hums loudly so cant hear shouts of derision)......

I can sympathise, I don't like going to the dentist either. However, I believe that one of two possible outcomes is certain.
1. You visit the dentist and experience (possibly) some pain and/or discomfort. This will end when you get out of the chair.
2. Your possible dental pain may get worse. This will continue until you take action. This action is most likely going to be option one.
This, in fact, makes my original statement incorrect. There is only one possible outcome - it is the timing of this outcome that is in your hands.
Hope you find this sufficiently shame inducing.
You may remove your fingers and stop humming now.
Try this;
Look in the mirror and smile and then open your mouth and have a good look.
Now, the next time you are in town and pass some junkies try to sneak a peek in their mouths (yes yes, I know you don't want to get that close) do you see any similarities? Do you really want people to think you are an ageing druggie?
Thanks chaps - much appreciated. I would laugh if my face didnt ache so much......
Grumps. If it really is your teeth go to a densist quickly. If there is ANY doubt ask the doctor for a blood test red and white cells. sounds over the top but some one I play golf with did and he has had the op and is now on the road to recovery, if he had left it you would be seeing him at work. head acres are the bodys warning system.
Docs appointment 12 noon - will report back
Got more super-duper antiB's - hope these ones work!
