Reasons NOT to be grumpy

Things that have made me grumpy lately include:

Conversations where others wont get to the point

A colleague allowing a door to bang constantly

The terribly slow computer at home

The waitress who interrupts our meal/conversation repeatedly to ask ‘is everything OK’

MM shuffling his legs in his sleep (as if he can help that!)

The duck molesting the chickens

My weight see-sawing

Our plants bolting/dying before we can transplant them

The duck/chickens eating the transplanted plants

My crap mobile phone

Having chosen the wrong clothes for the weather

Being asked questions when I am cleaning my teeth

I could go on – shall I go on? NO

Because I have a very dear friend who is leaving this world very shortly, far too soon.

When I last visited her in the hospice she told me that people should not be so impatient .

She said that things will happen when they are meant to.

My friend is very wise. She is also strong, determined, independent, irritating, irascible, infuriating, stubborn and very, very loved.

I do not do the God thing – but can I please ask all those of you that do to say a prayer for her please?

And in return I will stop and think every time I feel grumpy and count my blessings instead......... Nah, thats never gonna happen..

I too do not do the god thing but I will do the human thing and wish you well and your friend peace and freedom from pain.

I have decided that it is being grumpy that keeps me going. Cheerful people do not understand the world they live in.
